I was looking around for a decent phone & I’ll be honest, looks were a big factor in this. I wanted one that looked good, could make calls, could send texts & had a camera. That was all. I actually prefer the clamshell design phones so I was surprised when I saw this one & knew I had to have it. Great pictures on the screen, easy enough to use & looks fantastic.
I have no problems with it EXCEPT form time to time the phone doesn’t go into locked mode meaning I have to switch it off then on again. Also, sometimes the on button doesn’t work so I have to remove & reinsert the battery (which powers it on). Minor issues really but ones that niggle.
I don’t know if I’d recommend this phone as I don’t use it to its fullest extent but it does the job for me.

4 phones since September isn’t a good sign & my latest replacement is terrible too. I have given up sending the phone back because it’s the same every time. The phone is OK for a couple of days & then it starts to freeze, buttons don’t work the movies play with no sound & the phone is so slow. Would recommend not buying this phone I have gone back to using a Samsung D500.

Got this phone August 28th 2007. Now on my third one. Screen keeps freezing & overheating. Won’t be taking another one. Worst phone I have ever had. O2 say they have no complaints, I think they are good at telling porky’s! What’s the point in having a contract when the phone is no good? Think I’ll be seeing out my contract & going elsewhere. Wonder what they’ll do if it causes a fire in someone’s house?

Yes that’s right 5% usability. I was so looking forward to getting the Z8 as it was by far & away the nicest looking thing around & was packed with fun. I have now had it for 3 months & it has been in for repair for half of that time. Battery keeps dying, phone keeps freezing, for which I have to take the battery out to turn it off, I get a purple then blue then red & then black screen before it freezes again, keep having to restart the phonebook to find numbers, I am going to university soon just so I can learn to work the menu system LOL! Have gone back to using my old Nokia while new Z8 is being sent (can’t wait. ! )
PLEASE DON’T BY THIS PHONE, IT IS RUBBISH.

Great looking phone but it is a real pain, never works when you need it, phone hangs, reboots & freezes, also heats up. Took it back to Vodafone shop in Ballymena, (for second time) he stated that because I did not have the box he could not exchange it even though Vodafone do not sell this new phone any more.
My advise is stay clear of this phone & stay clear of Vodafone in Ballymena, service is not an option in this shop.

Don’t get me wrong it looks great the vision of the movie is brilliant & the sound is good too but I have a grade a version of the phone because I got it the day it came out & I have never owned such a shocking phone. I have never owned a Motorola phone before & never will this phone is absolutely terrible keeps restarting when I answer phone calls & also for no reason the screen flashes different colours then restarts so angry : (.

I have always owned Motorola mobile phones as trusted the quality etc. the quality of workmanship of my Z8 is rubbish. Very disappointing. Where is the Quality Control? Why are the phones checked for software problems before being shipped for use to customers?
The 1st Z8 I had lasted only 2 days. The screen went blank when turned on. I was given another Z8 from O2 store & this has software problems also after just a few days. Now it’s been sent for repair because O2 store wouldn’t replace it as I didn’t have the box. The 1st phone was changed without any box at the store. So please note that the O2 Ocean Terminal store will not change any mobile phone without the box it came in. Lolsssss. Excuses, excuses.
In regards the using the Z8 Motorola should have kept to the same format as the V3. Example when you text it’s not possible to go into your contact list & add phone numbers to your text mess. Or is this a software fault? My V3 I had before seems more reliable than the Z8. New Technology. More Problems. But where’s the Customer Service from Motorola in regards the inconvenience of the Z8?

In your review of the Motorola Z8, you make no mention of the fact that it is not possible to view full screen video other than through Mobiclip or did you find some way to do this.
Be very pleased to know. I cannot make my phone contacts & sim contacts available together & stay together. Anybody know how?
