I purchased this mobile phone in early September & it is by far the coolest mobile I have ever owned. I have previously used Nokia 6230i, N70, N95, T-Mobile MDA Vario (1, 2, & 3), amongst others. Although PDA phones have far more features & certainly make you more productive (especially with a data plan), this phone excels in its usability. It has received unfair criticism in two areas. Firstly, its size has been of some concern, & it is true it is quite bulky & is visible in a trouser or blouse pocket. However, in an inside jacket pocket it would be perfectly discreet. Personally I find the design quite attractive, & although it is big, it doesn’t look bad because of it. Very few high street mobile phone shops have chosen to offer this model, so commercially this phone is dead on arrival, which is a shame because a dozen lousy LG & Motorola’s are stocked in abundance, & one of only a handful of mobile phones with an optical camera zoom is not given as an option.
The Internet is the best place to track it down. This phone looks like a luxury item, & being packed with great features makes it more than eye candy. The camera is exceptionally good, certainly for casual use (Camera phone users aren’t used by pros anyway, & there is no phone on the market to compete with a dedicated model). Some have claimed in other reviews that the camera has been downgraded on the N93i from the previous model. This may be true, because the images & video appear a little soft, but there was awful on the original n93, so you have got to live with one type of problem at least, & on this model, the images appear fine & the video is great, whilst artefacts have been reduced. The optical zoom allows you to close in on a subject at full resolution, & the results are normally good. The flash on the camera is not strong enough & the further away a subject is, the less likely it is for the image to be illuminated. Generally the N93i camera’s video/photos appear quite dark. By comparison, the N95 does not have this problem.
In spite of this, using the camera is more enjoyable & since the phone has to be swivelled to access the camera & shoot video, it automatically gets you to think of image composition & orientation of subjects to be photographed. It is a lot of fun twisting & turning the phone, reviewing footage on its bright & colourful screen. The phone could be used in laptop mode (where the screen rests on the edge of the key pad), & it is great for video calling. You can put the phone in laptop mode, & put the phone before you on a table or something & enjoy a conversation. You can also store films on the memory card, & the playback is impressive (depending on the type of format/encoding used). Movies could be viewed comfortably in the laptop mode as you can put the phone down & just watch. Many phones (even those with multimedia in mind) cannot be used for comfortable viewing because either you must keep the device in your hand, or use a stand. This phone has no problems.
I recently got the N95 8GB edition which looks a lot better than the standard N95, & although it has 8GB of memory built in, I found it annoying that they took out the memory card expansion slot. The reason for this is that in the future larger capacity cards may be produced & if you’re deluxe N95 is only limited to an 8GB memory card, it would not be adequate. The N93i keeps the memory card slot, & as long as the gods of flash memory keep delivering higher capacity cards this phone will become more useful. For now, a 4GB memory card should be sufficient, & a 1GB card is included too. Running on Symbian, additional applications could be added, but to be honest this phone is best for making calls, using the multimedia features & playing around with. I wouldn’t recommend this for business-style use (or any other multimedia cased phone from Sony, Apple etc) because you could get Windows based phones which are a lot easier to use.
They are, however, not as much fun to use. Touch screen based phones may have great features for increasing your productivity (& even multimedia), they are not as much fun. This is sort of like a toy. As a device it encourages experimentation, & has so many key features that it will be useful for many years to come. Even web browsing using Wi-Fi or a 3G connection is a breeze. However, again, anything that involves typing is best done on devices with full QWERTY keyboards. Maybe a Bluetooth connected mini keyboard should be considered if you intend to use the phone for typing.
The music player is also well designed & supports the most popular formats. You can have your own equaliser presets stored on the device. A standard earphone jack would have been welcome, but as it is, you have to plug in the propriety earphones supplied, which are OK. There is a peripheral available that lets you to plug in other earphones, but it may add a little bulk to the beast. When you finish directing your masterpiece, chill out to some of your tunes, & then watch a film or something. This phone will keep you amused. A phone like this would, even after further developments in technology would be useful because what it is capable of are some of the things you won’t ever get bored of. It is well designed & constructed & is very user friendly. The keypad needs a little getting used to, but you will learn how to get responses out of it.
This device comes highly recommended, & at the time of writing, I have sampled many recent phones, the latest two being, the T-Mobile MDA Vario 3 & the Nokia N95-2 (8GB edition), my current phone. Whilst both these devices are effective in what they do, I still prefer the look, feel & usability of the Nokia N93i. I personally need to choose something that is well designed, fun to use & quite sophisticated. This phone can hit all the marks. It will impress the fashion conscious amongst phone users, & would also suit people who use it for business (although if a lot of data entry is part of your work, then this may take you a long time). As a student who writes essays on my phone, this device cannot be used for such purposes, simply because you must push every key about four times to type a single letter (as in all numeric keypad mobiles).
It comes recommended in any case.

The phone is good if you are looking for a camera good quality pictures, but it’s very difficult to use &, doesn’t support stereo Bluetooth head set, no value for money at all.

The best ever Nokia N series. Cool looks stylish and powerful features like WLAN & Wi-Fi but no UMTS like P990i. But it’s OK. Never hanged, excellent DVD like video like its predecessor but now has TV output. Nokia put this phone on the top. But remember expensive TOY and have to keep very secure. 100% Recommended.
