Sony Ericsson W660i 3G Phone Review
The W660i Walkman® music phone is a 3G capable mobile handset which comes in a choice of two colours which include a striking rose red & stylish record black coloured casing. The handset is a solid bar type design handset which comes with high quality music & imaging features as well as fast connectivity capabilities. The Sony Ericsson W660i Walkman® phone provides the user with the perfect combination of music, 3G speed & highly usable features. The handset comes with a large colour screen which provides up to 262,144 colours on a high resolution display. The handset is easy to hold in a single hand, as it measures 102mm in height, 46mm in width & 14.5mm in thickness. The W660i weighs 93 grams which gives the handset a solid & sturdy feel. The W660i is a member of the Sony Ericsson Walkman® phone range which includes other popular mobile handsets including the Sony Ericsson W610i, Sony Ericsson W880i, Sony Ericsson W950i & many more music focused mobile handsets from the Walkman® range.
The Sony Ericsson W660i comes with a built in Walkman® music player which allows the user to enjoy a full music experience on their 3G mobile phone. The music player comes with easy to create music playlists & the user can view original album art on the full colour screen. The user can move their music from their personal computer or laptop to their W660i easily, by simply connecting the devices, choosing the music & transferring the music file. The Mega Bass™ feature provides the user with a bass frequency feature which allows the user to enjoy a superior listening experience on their mobile phone. The TrackID™ feature is a song recognition feature which is simple to use & allows the user to get all the information they need for any song they like the sound of, the TrackID makes music recognition easy for the user. The W660i comes with a MusicDJ™ feature which allows the user to create their own polyphonic ringing tone by using the different sounds & music styles to create the personal ringing tone. The Walkman® phone supports Bluetooth® stereo which allows the user to enjoy a wireless music experience. The phone comes with a built in FM radio with RDS which allows the user to listen to a FM radio station & gain text information on the screen which is provided by the radio station.
The user can enjoy taking photos & recording video on their W660i thanks to a high quality 2 megapixel camera feature. The built in camera allows the user to capture all those fun moments in either photo or video format & the camera feature has direct interaction with the messaging features on the Sony Ericsson W660i. The camera feature comes with a dedicated camera menus which allows the user to select different photo options & store the photos with ease. The 2 megapixel camera comes with a 2.5 digital zoom feature & a photo light. The user can send their photos to a picture blog site which allows the user to share their photos with all their friends & family easily. The video clips feature allows the user to capture those fun moments in their day in full colour & with moving actions. The user can record, play & stream video footage on their W660i, which provides the user with fun imaging features on their mobile handset.
The phone comes with 16 Mbytes of internal memory & be expanded using a Micro™ M2™ memory stick. The Sony Ericsson W660i comes with a Access NetFront™ Web browser which allows the user to access the Web when ever they feel the need for more music or information from the Web. The 3G capable phone provides quick access to broadband Internet which allows the user to enjoy Web surfing, video calls, music & video streaming. The phone comes with a selection of connectivity options which includes a USB cabled connection with fast port & Bluetooth® connectivity which provides a wireless connection between two compatible devices. The Bluetooth® wireless connection allows the user to connect to other Bluetooth® compatible devices across a range of up to ten metres. The W660i works on a tri band network which covers GSM 900, 1800, 1900 & UMTS 2100.
The user can enjoy colourful & clear animations & graphics on their phone as the phone comes with Macromedia Flash Lite™ & SVG Tiny version 1.1. The W660i comes with preloaded 3D Java™ games which provide a colourful, lively & realistic gaming experience. The user can take part in a face to face video call as the phone comes with a second camera which is used for video calling. The user can enjoy a video call thanks to the 3G capabilities & can have a video call with any video calling compatible phone user. The user can take part in a conference call with a group of contacts or take a call over the phones speakers leaving the user handsfree when on a call. The flight mode feature allows the user to use a selection of features on their mobile phone when in a hospital & other restricted areas. The Sony Ericsson W660i Walkman phone comes with an instant email service which allows the user to receive emails directly to their mobile handset. The phone comes with SMS text messaging & MMS multimedia messaging which allows the user to create, send & receive messages. The SMS message service allows the user to create a message containing text & symbols. The MMS message can contain text with either a photo or video clip which provides the user with a fun way to share their photos & video clips with compatible MMS users. The VideoDJ™ feature allows the user to create a quick & simple video sequence.

Great phone, really easy to use especially for texting, music player on it is really good too. No flash on the camera can be a bit annoying but it is a Walkman phone not a cybershot.

This is a really good phone! I had the Samsung e900 & it drove me mad, but now I’ve got this I am so pleased & wouldn’t change it if I was offered the most expensive phone for free! Everything is good on this – it’s a very usable & feature-filled phone. I haven’t found anything I don’t like about it!
Definitely the best phone I’ve ever had – get it if you want a great phone whose camera & music player are pretty good (if you want them to be fantastic, buy a camera or MP3 player). I am really pleased with it

I have the black one it’s a bit blingy but who cares, it’s small & slim yet solid. Recommended!
